Winter Sucks

Here are just some updated pictures of the 76 Kawasaki KZ750 i picked up this summer.  Done quite a bit to it.  Thanks to my man Freddie for stitchin that seat together!

Also got a early xmas present in the mail the other day.  Its a present for my 79 Yamaha XS650.  Bored to 750cc, 3 angle valve job, welded crank.... etc etc.  My bike is gonna love it.

Gonna get my ass in gear, rent a space and start building more soon.

1976 Kawasaki KZ 750

Well thought I would get some pics up of my new daily beater while my xs is under the knife....

Went apeshit this weekend... cut the whole upper rear of the frame off... welded on a rear loop from a 72 triumph... cut off alot of extra brackets... made a battery box, mounted a different fender.. put on some turns and tailight from another bike... removed gauges, and mounted the headlight with some mikes xs brackets... put some moto bars on.

Runs pretty good...  nice and smooth... just needs a little carb tuning to run just about perfect... still trying to figure out if its ignition or carbs...

My New Seat!!

After a little hassle I finally got my new seat.  Looks like sausage fingers did a good job.  have to mess around tonight and see what it looks like on a bike.

Progress progress progress

Chris's bike is getting closer and closer.  Pulled the engine from my bike.  Cleaned the hell out of it, painted it, and got it into his bike sunday night.  Just have to put the carbs on and sort some of the wiring and it should be ready to start up.

Chris's Bike Coming together

Its been a little over a month, cutting, grinding, etc...  Chris just got his wheels and tires mounted and back in the garage last night so we started final assembly on his bike.  Most everything is on the bike that needs to be on it before the motor goes in.  Should be finished by sunday night hopefully....

Here are some sneak peeks.  Will get proper pictures up when its finished.

Side Covers Continued

When I stood back and looked at the side covers on the bike the holes I punched out of them looked way too big... So I mad some more plates, cut smaller holes in them, and welded them to the backs.  I think it worked out well... gives them a layered look and a little more depth...

Living in the Garage

Here is an older picture of my bike.  With the stock side covers on.

Here it is with the new side covers mounted.  Still have to cut some more holes and weld another layer of holes inside...

Chris getting some measurements to start his covers.

Dinner Time!

Got rid of my side covers this weekend.  Made a custom side cover, used my new sheet metal punches and made some holes.  This is the start of it.  Going to be adding to it later.
Chris's xs650 from when we first stripped the frame.  Cut everything that isn't needed off of the frame.  Bike will be built from the ground up.  Stripped down the frame to bare metal.  Made a custom seat pan that has now been foamed and is at the upholstery shop getting finished.  Updates coming soon......

Counter Balance...

I've been working on my xs 650 for a couple years.  I got sick of trying to buy parts and fitting them to my bike, so this is on of my first attempts at making my own parts.  This is an axle mount license plate bracket made out of 16 Ga. steel.

Im gonna dump some images here out of order for online resources...
