69 Shovelhead Exhaust the Sequal

Spent another night finishing up the exhaust for the shovelhead last night.  Its all tig welded up and ready to be smoothed out.  I was getting this bike ready for strange days next week, so Ill probably clean up the pipes when i get back from that.  Will be a good ride to see how my welds and mounts work out...

69 Shovelhead Custom Exhaust

Finally got all the stainless in to start my custom exhaust for the shovelhead.  I got two reverse cone megaphone mufflers.  They are extra short... like 12" and 1"3/4.

Just a few shots tonight... get some more up later...

Picked up some stainless 3/8" flanges to help keep them from distorting with heat... or bending over time... Had to machine the mounting hole so that it lined up with the shovelhead heads...

Choppahead Shop Opening...

Rode out to Freetown Mass this weekend to warm up the new Choppahead shop.  They have a really sweet setup with some cool roads to get to it.  There was a Chevy C10 full of beer and ice, a taco bar, and really tight extended swing arm doughnuts in the street.

Weekend Work

Blasted out some stuff this weekend... Finished up a set of wheel spacers for a buddys Ironhead Chopper.  Got all the last bits of the KZ750 twin 1-2 intake manifolds sorted and they are ready to put in the store.

Wrenched on the shovelhead some more... Did some more timing tuning and carb tuning on it.  Still need to change to a hotter plug and maybe go down a size on the main jet... After that it should be ready to rip all summer... Hopefully it makes it to the winter so i can tear it down proper...

I also got the bmw r60 into the studio and got some great shots of it... Stay tuned for the photo set when its finished...

Oxford Massachusetts Swap Meet

Finished the spacer i needed for the idler gear assembly this weekend... Took it up to Oxford Mass for the swap meet.  It rode much smoother but i still have a stumble when the throttle is first cracked... Once its at speed though it way smoother than before...

I also finally got the 350 thats going into the datsun out of the back of the van...

Some Shovel Maintenance

Got some time this afternoon to pull apart my cam chest and fix a spacer problem on the 69 shovel today.  When the po took off the generator he left the pinion gear that drives the distributor loose on the shaft... While riding the gear will move in and out about 1/4 changing the timing constantly...

Made a quick brass bushing to take up the space...

This is the part before i toleranced it and cleaned it up...
