Decided to use the brake pedal stopper to mount the footpeg. Ground out the stopper that was in there... Then machined some round stock to fit that hole... heated it and bent it to taste. This gave me a solid weld on the front of the plate, as well as the back of the plate to hold the footpeg.

Shovelhead Progress
Got to spend some time going through the right side controls a weekend or two ago. Still have a little finishing to do ... should be much more comfortable than those forward controls...

Oops I did it again! 69 Shovelhead
Well I was doing my normal routine of cruising craigslist for shit i dont need, and came across this 69 Harley Shovelhead. It was running and riding... although a little hideous for my taste... and was priced right. I wasnt really looking for a new project, but ive had my eyes open for one of these (or a cone shovel) for years. I had the scratch in my rainy day fund so i pulled the trigger.
It needs alot of work... Leaks like a mofo out of the main oil seal. Ordered new seals today, and have to pull the primary to get to it, but its pretty straightforward from there.
I am already making plans for the bike. Ive had a small collection of parts that ive been waiting to use so im digging through them tonight. Gonna get started and tear this thing apart...
The best part is that it runs and rides reliably... kick only haha... so most of the work ill be doing will be cosmetic for now...
These are basically the only before pictures i care to take...
